digital link vs. visorphone?

I'm considering either sprint digital link or visorphone for my prism. I live in the S.F. Bay area (Marin). Anyone have any experience with the coverage of either in this area? Also, do I need to get the Sprint Digital link for internet access if I have my own ISP? (Access4less) or can I use one of the cheaper regular phone plans. Are there any differences in sound quality between the two phones. Visorphone people seem to frequently complain about the sound quality. Any input is appreciated.
