Jeez, I can hardly believe anybody remembered!
I guess the diff. would be PDAs are portable, and you should be free of the prying eyes of video in your own home (er, if that's yer druthers, anyway ), should you ever bring your PDA there.... (Of course, at home, a person so inclined would have one of those new, deluxe Porn-O-Matic life-like monitors, eh?. )

As for "where" they might be sold? .... I dunno, I've heard that this new-fangled thing called the Internet is quite the selling tool....

Wink Good Idea

I for one think a porn module would sell like hotcakes. I ahve seen enough people with porn on their Palm....erm PDA to think this would be doable. Not to mention all the folks with Palmasutra and the amount of views this post has received!

Imagine how much porn can be stored on the Memplug adapters & run directly off the card

Would the module be likely to spread a virus?

I wanted to use "smote" (an alternate spelling of "smite") in a sentence.
I just made it up, happened to fit. "smote/smite" means "to strike" and "bloat" is "puffy" or "swelled up" or something. "strikes your swelling" I guess?
actually given the purpose of this thread that's more appropriate than I thought!
(yeah, okay, my minds sliding down the gutter now.)

I know I'm not the only one who took it that way from the beginning.. lol

Anyway, why would one need a module for this?
There are already plenty of picture viewers out there.
Convert away

I also find it funny that the conservatives are always the first to strike.

You don't have to be conservative to think porn is a waste of time. I think a porn module would only serve really lazy people (with a lot of extra dough), couldn't you just skim pictures off the web and view them in a picture viewer? $30-$40 for some nude pictures? You can fill your computers hard drive with free pictures off the web right now. Handspring would have to be on drugs to license the Springboard platform to any porn related company. The backlash would not be good. Regardless of what any one here personally thinks of porn, our society in general looks askance at porn, viewing it as a sinful thing.

I don't think the porn industry has done much more than take advantage of emerging tech, they haven't really pushed tech further ahead with their own $$s. (You forgot to mention their avid (and early adoptive) use of spam technology.
Warning, what follows is my personal opinion on porn. If you're thin skinned and can't handle rational discussion on the subject, go no farther!
Porn is not a good thing ever. It separates sex from love, turning natural, God given urges into something selfish and twisted. Being a young kid and wanting to see what a naked girl looks like is understandable. Being a married father and looking at porn on your handheld is disturbing. If a person "needs" porn to "enhance" their sex life, there's something missing. Sex is not bad, turning it into a commodity, which porn does, is.

All that time people could have saved by not 'smoting their bloat'. LOL!

Now that you're done preaching , maybe we could stay away from the moral issues of viewing porn and stick to the topic.

If I wanted pocket porno I would go buy a deck of adult playing cards... not that I would... um... look over there!

The "corrupt databases" are the minds of those who have chosen a way of life which is limiting and difficult, then resent others who do not choose to practice their beliefs. There are plenty of horrible things in the world to worry about much worse than porn... like people who kill, hurt, and hate each other for religion, politics, and morals. Hey icthus, aren't there any prostitutes to throw stones at in your neighborhood?

I thought I wrote that the last bit was my PERSONAL opinion.
4 out of 5 paragraphs were "sticking to the topic" according to you and not "preaching" (BTW, I thought someone had to quote scripture to be preaching, or do you define preaching as any time someone else speaks out a differing opinion on moral issues?)
Also, all you "sensitive" porn cheerleaders- get off your high horses, lots of rational people can have differing opinions from you. Learn to live with it, this is the internet after all.
If you can't read someone elses opinion without becoming incensed, perhaps you should skip the internet and take up a hobby like collecting old nudie playing cards.
Lighten up.

I agree with you BobbyMike. I like to see other views within reason. What I don't liek to see is people making statements without any rational or thought. WHat you said above DOES NOT fall in this category.

For the most part we are all adults here. we should be able to have a conversion -- no matter how controversial -- without name calling and starting a fight.

I define it as anyone who takes the what would jesus do approach and writes a long winded post about how porn is bad, Mmkay.

I was lightening up. That was a joke about the nudie cards.
BTW, who said anything about Jesus? I did mention God (as in God given urges) once in my post, but most of what I said about Porn revolved around it's societal relativity- it's adverse affect on relationships.
I think the module would flop. I gave some reasons about why I thought it would flop.
I then responded to a comment about how porn has helped tech. I thought it had more taken advantage of existing tech, not driven it forward.
Then I posted my personal opinion on porn. You proceeded to "roll eyes (sarcastic)" at me and rant about Jesus and Preaching.
Talk about going off subject!
I never said anyone was bad, stupid, or going to Hell because they looked at porn. I said I thought it was a waste of time. Time probably better spent developing relationships with people around you.
You seem to bringing something into this conversation. It ain't coming from me.

Then again I've never seen nudie cards, maybe there is something I'm missing about this 'joke'.

Nobody but me. It's just a really cheesy saying. "What would Jesus do?" when faced with a moral dilemma.

You are taking the words I used out of context and in their extreme literal sense. Also, I guess you define ranting as single sentences?

In your first post, you wrote : "If you're thin skinned and can't handle rational discussion on the subject, go no farther!". I was pretty sure we were discussing a Porn Module, not having a rational discussion of the moral issues of viewing porn.

And you are entitled to your opinion. That doesn't mean others can't respond to it. You were saying something about being thin skinned I believe... .

Amen, Brother Jeff! I think if I were religious I'd hate alot of people. But since I'm not, I don't. Not even those in the Middle East killing each other over religion.

Porn RULES!
