I'm not sure if this belongs in this topic, so forgive me if I'm out of place.

I'm still waiting on my Visor, and I'll want to be connecting it to the web via a cel phone. I'm about to switch cel providers, too, so I wanna make sure I pick the right one.

I've never owned a PDA before, so I'm a bit in the dark. Does anyone connect their Visor to their cel phone? Which phone do you use, and do you need special software to do it? How exactly does that work?

You can't use cell phones for Visors.

actually Djeter, there isnt anything in the works for the visor, but you can connect some pda's to phones using a wire. Its just not common in america. Who know, maybe it will be one day.

If you talk about connecting to internet, I think could do it with sprintpcs web phone with and serial cradle or cable (if you can find one). Sprintpcs only offer 14k max data transmittion. I think they have some info on their web site, www.sprintpcs.com. Good luck. I haven't try it yet - waiting for my contract to expire with att.

I use an Ericsson I888 world phone . It has a built in IR port with an internal modem. It works great. I installed the enhanced IRDA update on my visor and use Irlink to redirect network activity to the IR port. It�s perfect the phone runs on Pacific Bell�s GSM network. I can check email, surf the net etc. all with out any wires.

Forgive me but doesnt the six pack have a cellular modem in it? and if that is the case, which the preveiw says, what would stop someone from cellular www? maybe not with graphics, but lynx and a dial up seemingly would work fine.

In reply to DJeter, Keep your comments to yourself if you can't be nice or don't have any experience with a subject. There's always a chance someone else can actually help.

My SprintPCS Touchpoint with the wireless web accessory kit does just fine connected to my serial cradle through a null modem. At 14400 its not like surfing on a T-1 or anything, but it does just fine for email when there's no landline around.

Also, I don't believe the Six-Pac has an actual wireless modem in it, but it offers a standard connector for cell phone manufactures to make adaptor cables for.
