Exclamation

Dropped the poor dear yesterday and all is not well. Soft reset did nada, hard reset zippo as well. Have left the thing batteryless for an hour and upon restarting I get the Setuo screen. Problem is, when I get to the stylus calibration part, I can't get out. Just "Tap here" at the top left and bottom right, again and again, with an occasional center spot once in a while. I've humored it through more than 50 taps and it just never finishes. Thge data's obviously long gone, but I'm not quite ready to shell out another $249 shmackeroos, SO PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME! Thanks.

Cool

If you call Handspring Tech Support, they might be able to help you.
Then again, they might tell you that your only option is to purchase a new one.

If you are brave, you can void your warrenty and try opening up your Visor. If you are lucky enough to have a delux stylus, you can unscrew the butt end to reveal a tiny phillips head screw driver. Otherwise you'll have to find a tiny one.

It sounds like the cable on the screen came loose.

Do a search on this BBS, there was a message somewhere giving a detailed account about how to take your visor apart and put it back together.

I know someone who had the exact same problem--they could not get out of the digitizer screen...but this was the owner of a Palm IIIe, not a Visor. He ended up getting a new Palm from the Franklin store where he had purchased his.

Good luck!
