Address Book Problem

I having a little problem with the address book. Some addresses have enough information that I have to push the page down button twice to see all of it. On some addresses that works fine, but on others, instead of going to the third page of information, it goes onto the next address. The only way to get the info from the bottom of some of these address seems to be to go into edit mode and then page down; it always shows everything then. Am I the only one who has noticed this, or is this something that has been commented on before? Is there any way to fix this? I am using a VDL, but my VPR should be here in a few days; any idea if the VPR has the same problem? Thanx.

While I don't know if it's been discussed, I've seen this as well; it seems to me to happen when the second or third screen only has one line to it. I got around it by adding blank space/returns or manipulating the data to stop it from going to the extra line.

I've never seen this before. I have many contacts that have 3 pages of data (mine own address too). I can scroll thru all 3 pages of data, then it goes to the next. I even tried out a test with enough data to fill 4 pages of data. That worked also. Sounds like it's the machine or you might be pressing the button to fast.

No, this is a known problem that has been discussed here several times. I believe it has been fixed in one of the later OS versions.

What OS is it a problem with. I have 3.1 and can't reproduce the problem? Isn't Handspring only using 2 versions of the Palm OS, 3.1 and 3.5.2?

I had a Visor Deluxe running OS3.1 and now own a Prism with OS3.5. I have experienced this problem on BOTH devices. I would love to know what causes it. It definately seems to occur when there is only one or two lines on the next page. Not sure what causes it, but it is really a pain sometimes.

I would also believe that it exists on every Visor. I just do not see this as being a bug that only occurs on certain units.

It looks as though it has not been fixed in recent Palm OS releases, although I'm not sure about 4.0.

It occurs on all models but is dependent on several factors. Try searching the old deja archives now at google.com for keywords 'address' and 'scroll' in comp.sys.palmtops.pilot and you'll see a bunch of articles.
