I've read the threads concerning this in the archive, and am trying to resolve a few more questions. I'm leaning toward the MemPlug (even though I've heard that the Flashplus gives much better service) because I need the backup facility, and I don't think the FlashPlus comes with a backup utility (I've seen references to jackBack in the postings, but it looks like a software package that I'd need to pay more for, and I'd like to get all of the software I need with the price of the module).
The latest release of CardBackup (1.3) from jkWare has full support for the FlashPlus. The app is feature limited shareware which means you can use it free if you only want basic functions (full backup and restore) or register for $8 to add advanced features like timed backup and individual file restore.

Is the battery consumption a substantial problem with the memplug? I'd love to hear any opinions you might have on which is better.
I've heard that there may have been issues with certain versions of the MemPlugCF, but in general, battery usage for both adapters is almost entirely dependant on the CF card itself. Some cards have very good power management and some don't. The respective Yahoo Groups forums have lots of info in the archives regarding performance of various CF cards.
