How about "Family Radio Service" Springboard? I can't wait to have one. Anyone know of such is coming?

How about a text scanner. It would be a big help at the library researching. You could also use it as a mini copy machine.

Seems to me that there's fantasizing and then there's practical fantasizing. By the latter, I mean fantasizing about modules that make sense to have in a Visor because they would be better than stand alone applications. An example is the GPS units that have long been promised and have yet to appear. They're better as Springboard modules because they can interact with Palm applications to do a lot more. Examples include a bike computer that tracks your whole trip with GPS coordinates and downloads to your PC later, or a high-tech treasure hunt where the coordinator can tell if you've gone to each location by the software that records your trip.

Back to practical fantasizing, please explain why an AM/FM radio module is better than a walkman. What Palm app could it interface with?

Why would a taser module be better than a standalone taser?

Etc.

I hope folks don't think I'm being a stick-in-the-mud, but often it's practical fantasies that come true. Whimsical ones don't.

A Taser Module would be better than the stand alone for a few reasons:

1. It was just something fun I thought of to make a visor a weapon (such as the slingshot module)

2. You wouldn't have to carry a bulky taser, you could just carry your visor

3. The whole taser idea was just a joke that could make a visor more like a phaser (like from Star Trek) but with current technology

There are many other great reasons a gameboy springboard should be developed. One would be that the gameboy link cable could be built into the module and one could take advantage of perhiperals for the game boy like the game boy printer. The link cable could also be used to transfer files between visors. Also perhaps if the gameboy camera was used in the visor, the pictures from the camera could be downloaded to the pc or transfered to and from visors. Though these picture may be low quality it would be a very inexpensive camera for the visor. A gameboy springboard could also be used to download gameboy roms and perhaps upload roms to gameboy rom cartradges. I think a gameboy springboard would be a great thing for nintendo to attempt to develop.

I want a light meter module.
You know, for photographers.

I've been looking at upgrading to a new hand-held meter but I'm holding out for a visor solution. If it's already out there let me know.

Here's a glucose meter!

Here's one in development. It's made by Therasense.

The bummer is that, because it's a medical product, the FDA or the AMA hasn't approved it. That process could take years. :-(

Hmmmmmm A MULTIPURPOSE spring board module that not only has one purpose or even two.... maybe three or four...... Why can't someone make a communications springboard module that not only has wired connectivity(modem, ethernet) as well as wireless connectivity built into it as well. I would definitely but that...... AN ALL IN ONE SPRINGBOARD MODULE...... I hope someone is reading this....................
