I have been searching desperately on eBay for reasonably-priced Visor Deluxes. $(140-160) with the rebate option still good. (okay, so I'm a bit cheap.) I have yet to see a decently-equipped Visor to sell for Less than $180 , and generally higher than that. Even without the rebate. May I ask WHY? They cost $200.00 new, and that has free shipping. Palm IIIc 's are currently selling used for about $30.00 more. So I must ask, is there a lack of Visors? That's the only thing I can imagine that would cause such a hot demand for them.

If not, does anyone know where I can pick up reasonably priced Used VDX's?

Thanks.

I have found that ebay is a bad place to buy anything that is 'cool' to the masses.

Very frequently you can find new items that sell for above retail price.

Often this is the result of a sick combination of auction happy fools and evil web bots and ebay scammers.

My experience is that ebay is a bad place to buy new or recent technology, but a mecca for weird and rare stuff, as well as vintage items. (in other weirds items with a low demand)I really hope that in a year or so I can buy all sorts of basically obsolete springboards for dirt cheap on ebay.

so I guess to answer the question, Visor must be in demand, auction prices are very good reflection of demand

Decently Equipped?

I guess I don't know what you mean by "decently equipped". Are you hoping for a Springboard module or two thrown into the deal? I have seen a few Ebay postings for units that "include" shareware software. Big Woof! Even if someone includes paid software on the unit, most software requires a desktop companion which you would need to actually use the handheld app in a meaningful way.

I bought (three weeks ago) a new VDX Graphite at Staples for a couple bucks over $160 with the Staples $40 rebate and the $50 Handspring rebate thrown in. I paid $195 for my VDX Ice on Ebay in December. Good deals on both.

I paid about $180 on eBay about 6 months ago for my Ice. Just bought a new Blue for $172 delivered from Staples for my wife by doing a price match w/ Target and using the $40 coupon. Still have the $50 rebate to send in. Just need to power shop for the bargains!

Well, I'm interested in the graphite VDX, it falls within my price range. I have seen other VDX's for sale with keyboards and Springboard Modules, and while priced seperatley they're steals, I simply don't have the money, and I'm too afraid if I got them with the modules, I'd like it too much to sell them. :-( Oh well.
