Hey,

I picked up the Stowaway this weekend, and it seems pretty nice. I've only really played with it so far, but I've come across an issue with it (i say issue, not problem, because it's more likely me than the keyboard).

I'm trying ActionNames for calendaring and contact management. As far as can tell, the keyboard is next to useless with this app. One cannot do any more than filter in the contact app (by typing in the field that is active when you open the contacts view). There's no way I can find to select an entry for viewing/editing, no scrolling down the list, etc. In the calendar view, you can scroll through the days, but I can't find a way to select one.

How about in Launch 'Em? I can navigate among the tabs and make the screen jump down to the first app beginning with the letter I press, but can't select or launch an app.

The regular datebook+, address and launcher are just as bad, if not worse.

I've looked on the 'Net, but all the mentions/reviews of the stowaway deal with its utility for typing memos. I've seen a Visor/Stowaway combo called a "laptop replacement" of sorts. So far, that analogy isn't working for me - I can use the keyboard of a laptop to do almost everything with regard to navigating the OS and most programs, not just text editors and word processors.

Ideas, tutorials, links on making more complete use of this little engineering marvel? Not necessarily specific to the two programs I mentioned or the built-ins, but to anything other than text editors and word processors. Please?

It sounds like you need LapTopHack

It allows you to manipulate the controls on the screen with the keyboard. Well, most of the controls at least.
Requires Hackmaster.
