Death of the Prism

On the heels of the Treo 90 and the further reduction of the Visor prices, I've noticed that the Prism has become "Temporarily Unavailable." I wonder how temporary this will be. Any thoughts?

I just want to say, I just checked the Best Buy Site, and it looks like that they are not selling the Prism anymore.

Can anyone check that for me again?

That is another clue that the Treo 90 is coming, in addition to the "Temporarily unavailable" sign at Handspring.

If you go to http://www.handspring.com/store/cartshipping_info.jhtml
It says that the Prism is "In Stock".

Still Dying

Now your link shows the Prism as "Temp. Unava." I'll check BB and get back with you.

Thanks

Another Development, Circuit City says that the Prism is a "Clearance Item"

Quote:

"ON SALE!
Clearance Item - While They Last!"

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

Sorry I keep on updating on where you can get the Prism, but

It's back at Handspring.

Birth of my Prism

Well, I caved. I had been wanting a prism for a long time. I know that it is probably being discontinued, but I really don't like the palm units at all and I would really like color. I also don't care for ppc. In fact my Jornada (525) is for auction on ebay as I type this.
I paid 269 - 50.00 mail in rebate for the Prism. They only had one left so I figured that if the price drops this weekend I'll just go back to Circuit City and get the difference Guess my plat will be on ebay in a week or so!

Well, I too caved in. I have had a Prism since they first came out and love it (upgraded from a Deluxe). I have numerous springboards and can't imagine life without it. So with the threat of the Prism disappearing forever, I went bought another one at Staples ($270+tax) as a backup. Now I have two and should be set until something much better comes along.

Unhappy Death of the Prism?

Hello,

I just browsed some sites here in the Netherlands. Indeed, the Prism seems to sneak out through the back door here as well. Almost any internet computershops here only sell the Neo or Pro now. I couldn't find any Prism's anymore. Only Handspring Germany (www.handspring.de) still has the Prism listed on their site for 557 (= $ 513)....
Just got mine two months ago...Time for panic?
