As a network engineer I think the killer Springboard module would be a 10/100 cable tester module with a built in TDR for testing physical cable issues and possibly a protocol level analyzer as well as network traffic analysis and sniffing. Perfect tool for a tech who can't afford or doesn't want to carry around a 25,000 Fluke meter.

I would love just an ethernet springboard; I have to lug a laptop all over the place just to test the ports, and 99% of the time it isn't physically screwed up, it's the client machine that is doing something wrong. If I could telnet to the server from my Visor...then I could check the logs!

With the new ethernet cradle by Palm this should be easy to do. I think it would be awesome and would definitely buy one. Imagine...strolling around your work place, slip under a desk, unplug, plug in, press sync...whammo...

of course, unplug and then plug that user back in...you don't want them calling a few minutes later saying "i can't get on the internet...blah blah blah"
