Question

I got the VDX because I knew that 2MB would never be enough, but I've never even come close to using all 8MB, and my Visor is with me all the time, so it's not that I don't use it. So I'm curious, all you folks who need more and more memory. What do you do with it? Maybe I'm missing out on something really cool.

There are so many programs available that I had my 2 Meg unit upgraded to 8 Meg and I just bought a Platinum so it can be upgraded to 16 meg. What I have includes:
Vindigo, AOL, Area codes, Avantgo, Bdicty, Beiks Tetris, Bejeweled, Big clock, Blazer, Block party, Centipede, Cityzen, Currency, Eyecontact, Fax, Fireviewer, Frogger, Gobble, Hardball, Hotdate, Handyshopper, Invaders, Majongg, Yahoo Messenger, Minehunt, Mobilejokes, Money, Mspiral, PalmaSutra, Parkinglot, Quickchart and Quicksheet, Racefever, Remote, Slot 4, Simplesketch, Subhunt, Supertictactoe, Surewave, Textplus, Thesaurus, Tinysheet, Wackem, and Wordsmith. I need more memory for maps from Mapopolis, Marcosoft and Solus.

Try Avantgo

Load Avantgo (http://www.avantgo.com) then subscribe to the full compliment of PDA-friendly pages. That'll eat up a good 2.5MB of storage (and you'll have up to date new/sports/weather whenever you synch).

Noah Lite is a damn good dictionary and that'll eat up another 2.5MB. I've pledged to dump Noah as soon as something more intriguing comes up that requires the space, but in the meantime having a fully functional dictionary in my pocket is pretty cool. I believe you can find Noah at www.palmgear.com, download.com, or any of the other major freeware/shareware mirror sites.

Wink

i am constantly dumping stuff for more room and i have the 8mb visor. Avantgo takes up a ton of space if you have alot of channels, pocket office, word smith, tealmovie, with like 2 mb of vids, teal paint, photo albulm, and a game boy emulator (hehe) never mind the email clients, msn messenger , and icq, the thing is jam packed , im thinking of getting the upgrade to 16 mb or just buying the CF adapter so i can use the Cf cards I already have..i just never have enough free space on the thing.

I normally use about 3 megs of my available memory. That includes a good number of games, and a good ammount of utilities.

If you're a Christian (like me), BibleReader (with the KJV) will fill up about 1.7 MBs of space.
If you're always trying to find someplace you've never been (like me)Mapopolis is only about 37k, but each map is about 200-300k. I have ten maps on my module.
All in all I have about 13.5MB currently on my Visor and 8MB module. I don't use it all every day, but I do go through the whole lot weekly and delete anything I'm not using. Try some freeware out (look fo a link to freeware in VC software section). If you do, you might be surprised to find out the wide variety of things you can do with your Deluxe!
