I just got a Prism and I am having some major hotsync troubles.

I am using a USB cradle and am trying to sync to Windows 98. Every other sync, my visor crashes. It gives me the following "fatal error":

../Src/Palm/HwrInterrupt S68Z328.C,Line: 237,IRQ3

I can not even hit the supplied reset button. It just freezes on this screen. I have to unscrew my stylus to reset it. It has really been a big ol' pain. I need help! Does anyone know what is wrong? Anyone else have the same problem?

I just had this happen tonight with the same message. I'm syncing to a Mac with a Prism, but this was the first time I'd received that message. After I reset it, it synced ok.

I had problems the last couple of days, getting a Fatal Exception message during syncing, but found out that the new Xmaster hack program is currently not working on Prisms, so I deleted it.

In both cases, the reset button on the screen would not work, and I had to use the reset pin in the stylus.

I have been using XMaster for awhile now with my Visor Deluxe but recently I tried to sync and the thing locked up requiring a soft reset. But when I reset it all my data was gone.

I restored from a backup and about the 2nd sync after that it happened again. Then it happened a 3rd time. XMaster was the only new program I had on it so I took it off. I hope it doesn't happen again.

I am having the exact same problem. Lockup on HotSync to USB cradle. I reset with the pin and everything goes back to the out of the box settings. All data and added apps are gone. Date is gone, but time is correct. I just installed X-Master last week. I only have one hack installed right now (MiddleCapsHack).

Luckily I am using Backup Buddy and can restore from the second PC (Serial cradle). Very time consuming reinstalling after a total loss.

I will remove X-Master. And will test the USB Hot Sync. (I also upgraded to the New Palm Desktop a few weeks ago. No problems it that until X-Master)

they posted an upgrade to X-Master on Palmgear yesterday that solves the problem with Visors/Prisms. The programmer even apologizes to visor owners. were any of you using this new version?

Downloaded the new version of X-master. Installed. HotSynced on the PC with the serial cradle, twice. No problem. Move to the other PC with USB cradle. HotSync, no problem. HotSync again, screen went blank, Visor locked, everything gone (except this time the date and time stuck, prior crashes lost the date as well).

I will restore and the try to HotSync without the X-master.

X-Master BAD

OK...no more X-Master for me. I would rather pay the 15 bucks for Teal Master and avoid the hastle. I think that Teal Master is a much superior product anyway. My vote is for Teal Master. I have been using it with no problems whatsoever.

x-master ver 1.0 issue

i had the same thing happen to me wednesday and then again thursday that happen to DocShasta and Dirty Dave. I was reading the forum this moring to see if anyone else was having a simular problem. i am running win 98, visor delux. i have loaded a bunch of software the past couple days including the geode and have been using it quit alot, so wasn't sure what want wrong. e-mailed handspring CS, but got a stock, not applicable, reply, but did get a response, so that was encouraging. Anyway, one of the programs i reciently added was x-master ver 1.0. So this morning i deleted x-master, hackmaster and all the hacks, reinstall backed up the visor and reinstalled (for the 3rd time) all the apps that don't back up and used it all day and hotsynced it tonite and it worked. I did download x-master ver 1.1, but will wait a while before i install it. i will reinstall the old hackmaster and the few hacks that i know work some day, but right now i want to play with my geodo, which came yesterday, 3 weeks earlier then they said it would be ship, my lucky day - fixed my reset-hotsync problem and got my geode. Thanks for sharing your problem with me, it helped me out.
