Infrared hotsync problems using irLink

Has anyone ever used irLink from isComplete (www.iscomplete.com)?
I have a Visor Deluxe and having been using irLink to hotsync via the IR port... usually it works well but sometimes it hangs up on the clean-up process... it will sync all of the time but sometimes I have to manually reset the Visor after syncing... Does anyone know of a workaround or are you having any issues doing hotsyncing via IR?

I used irLink regularly on my Dlx, with no problems (that I can recall)

Does it hang when it hits a particulat conduit?

I have also heard that afterburner or similar hacks should be disabled prior to IR sync.
