Re: You can never be too clean

True- but cleaning a new screen is also likely to leave more lint and debris than when you started. Puffing dust off is one thing, but the instructions don't clarify if it is a puffing or a 'wet and wipe' cleaning- and since you are supposed to clean the screen as well with the wipes they provide, I assume they mean to do the film the same way.

The rough side is actually a protective coating that prevents scratching the screen when you write with your stylus. Yes, it is slightly cloudy, but the NuShield folks tell me that they are working on a new process that will increase the clarity. The G2 film does not have an abrasion coating which is why it is so clear. It is just a piece of plastic film.

This is from the G2 website: "PDASPC worked with industry specialists to create a new, hi-tech material that meets the objectives of superior clarity, with resistance to tacking and scratching. This cutting-edge material stands up to normal use and looks great for a very long time - at least 100 times longer than the original antistatic material."

The original PDAScreenProtector (PDASP) WAS mostly 'just a piece of plastic film' and mine scratched quickly. It took a glowing review at www.the-gadgeteer.com before I decided to give them a second chance.

Good luck with your NuShield. I love mine and it has worked great for the past 6 months.

I am really glad you enjoy them! I am also glad that there are many options to suit many needs.

So far, I am unhappy with mine. I have tried one on my wife's Visor, and the same problems are happening there- if you try to clean the film, it just pops out. In use, I keep seeing gaps between the edge of the film and the screen. The shape of the films makes it easy to install them, but seems like it does not really hold them in like I am used to.

And that may be the key point- 'like I am used to'. My wife has not used any protectors before (new toy for her!), so I will see how she likes them!

I'm sure you are happy with them--from your previous post, I got the impression this was YOUR product.

As long as someone else brought it up...

An update on my wife and the NuShields on her Solo- she pulled it off after 10 minutes of use, but had not told me about it. She thought it was just moving around too much and made her PDA use more awkward in some undefineable way. She also neglected to let me know her Solo was 'naked' for a couple weeks after this.

So, currently, we are using G2s on my Sony T615 and wife's Solo, and Brandos on my kid's Neo.

In my 'final' opinion, Brandos and G2 are not the same thing, each has strengths and weaknesses- you just need to figure out which suits YOUR needs and use it. Nothing else I have tried, however, comes close to working as well as these two products do to protect my PDA screens.

Thumbs up No moving around here.

I have a NuShield on my Prism. I don't have any exposed edges or moving around. In fact, I have an Atomik keyboard sticker on top of the NuShield and it has never gone out of alignment/calibration. It reduced the brightness a little bit, but I just turned up the screen brightness to under the "n" in "brightness."

Just my $0.014 worth (after taxes).

I would like to introduce you to my screen protector, NuShield. This product does not stick to the screen, lasts over 4 months per film, it is sturdy, can be cleaned and reinstalled. It reduces glare and prevents scratches.
Best of all, the price!!! You get a year's supply for just $16.99 including shipping. And you'll want to get the screen wipes to clean your screen before installing.

Check out the website at www.nushield.com. There is also a great article about how your stylus scratches your screen.

Good luck,

I hate spam! I don't know about anyone else, but once someone starts going around spamming everywhere, I tend to avoid that web site/service. Maybe if enough people followed that philosophy, it would become a disincentive to spam.

==============================================
I just received my Brando one week to the day after I ordered it. It is even BETTER than I could have imagined.

Very nice thread guys. I have been through so many screen protectors and I JUST LOVE BRANDO. It's washable, but it's hard not to get dust on it. Any techniques you use to avoid dust? It's like having to do it in a clean room. I came across a very similar washable product here: www.newtonelectronics.com/pdascreenprotectors.htm.

Just thought you would like to check that out.
