 Cannot uninstall palm desktop on xp pro

I installed xp and didn't uninstall palm desktop. Every time I try to uninstall desktop 4.01 I get this error message: dll function call crashed: palmuni.removepalmconduits
Any bright ideas?
BTW xp is a heck of a lot better than ME.
