Question How can I erase the YadaYada software from my Minstrel S?

Does anyone know how to delete software from the Minstrel? It automatically puts the Yadayada browser and stuff to my Visor. Since those won't work anymore and the Minstrel can still be used, can that software be removed?

ok...

Hey, i use the YadaYada version of the Minstrel S with Verizons 24.99 a month service and this is how i do it:

First, i popped the Minstrel S into the visor and it FORCED me to install its software. (bummer right?)

Then i got a program like FilePoint (so you an delete files not visible under the D application.

When you go into one of the programs, search for files having to do with YadaYada. The most noticable one will be called
-YadaYada or something similar so it shows up at the top of the list. Delete that, you dont need it.
Then, delete the OneTouch email program (because it only works with YadaYada).
Delete YadaBrowse...and any other program thats similar created by Yada.

Now if you take it out (make sure your in the main applications window) and put it back in, it asks you if you want to install the YadaYada software, say no.

There ya go, also...if you want to set up the minstrel with a provider like Verizon...you can use the Minstrel program thats already on it (i used the downloaded version at Novatel's website and left it in ram) but the regular minstrel works fine.

need any more help you can contact me at

P.S.

Verizon gave me the supercool "airbridge.net" account

Unhappy Hold on a sec....

Thanks for the help, but....

I followed your advice and got Filepoint. It works to show me the YadaYada software on the modem and the software that it forced onto the Visor. However when I try to delete the main YY file and email, I get an error. If I have it list the files on the modem in FileMover, it tells me that the e-mail program and YadaCW are protected....I'm guessing that's why I get the error in Filepoint.......?

im talking about...

im talking about the files that are put onto the visors ram, not in the minstrels ROM

you cant get rid of those files, unless you want to wipe out the whole thing, making it useless, unless you put omniskys software update on it and such...
