Last month Handspring stated that they were not considering price reductions on their Visor family to match Palm's price drop, but is seems like they have had a change of heart.

Handspring today dropped the price of
Visor Deluxe permanently to $199 (the previous mail-in rebate for Deluxe ended today), and Visor Platinum is $249 after a mail-in rebate (a $50 savings).

In addition, for a limited time every Visor Deluxe order will come with a a free slim leather case (a $24.95 value).

The Platinum rebate is good May 4 through June 17.

Discuss the price drops.

Does that mean that you can get a Visor Deluxe for $100 with the rebates? Or am I missing something??

Exclamation

What about the Prism? I would like a real reason not to get an m505. Besides the already talked about considerations, price is very compelling.

Doh! And I just bought a Deluxe for my sister. The price change would've negated the rebate hassle.

I hate starting rumors...but Handspring does have a tendency to drop prices on their models just prior to announcing a new Visor.

So maybe....this is a prelude to something big...

If the Visor Plat. was still a bargain compared to the m500, then why lower the price?!?! Sure, you can pay $100 (now $150) more for an LED & vibrator if you really are a Palm-only freak... (and a crappy expansion slot that won't be viable for other than memory for a long time.)

Ok, maybe it's just sour grapes from me, since I bought 2 VDX's at full price before the rebate offer...

Was Edge BIG? I wasn't impressed... I'm holding my wallet tight for the new color Visor (if there is gonna be one soon), neither m505 or n710c is good enough for me to ditch my beloved VPL.

Whew
And I was all set to buy a VDX. Forget that. Visor Plat. here I come. And I can still use my cell phone cable from supplynet with this model. And best of all I can use the Verizon QNC service since the plat has palm OS 3.5.

Smile I got for $110

I just bought VDx fron Staples last week, got $40 discount and sent off rebate for getting $50 back.

I could do price matching. which will cut the price down $50.

$249 - $50 - $50 - $40 = $109

New models?

They didn't reduce prices when the Prism and Platinum came out, only the Edge and I don't think that was related because the rebate was for the VDx.

Now all Handspring has to do is offer the plat. in various case colors. Oh, something along the lines of ice, green, orange, blue, graphite, and silver would be nice.
