Question

How do I turn off the alarms coming from Datebook and Datebook+ and just have the Action Names alarms? I'm getting like three different alarms for each event, then the snooze/reminders. It becomes this annoying cacophany of alarms! Help!

I have tried everything to fix this (datebook stub, etc) but nothing works, so as much as I like ActionNames I will let the demo expire without buying.

Exclamation

I spoke to the tech support for Datebook 4, and they said that their current workaround doesn't work with OS 3.5, and that Palm won't respond with any answer as to how to get it working.

So basically, you get multiple alarms and that's that? Wow, that kind of sucks. I notice that any new Outlook or Action Names meeting I put an alarm to gets 'mirrored' in the Datebooks and subsequently I get the multi-alarms. Argh.

I suppose I could try to set all the 'timing' for the alarms to be the same, but I guess I'll still have to click off all of them instead of just one.

I use an app called 3Alarm. It lets you set select different apps and then choose what alarm sound to use. But the nice feature and main reason I use it, is you can tell it to ignore alarms from any app. So I have the regular datebook ignored, and Datebook+ not.

I only get one alarm now.

I posted this info in another thread but here it is again. The latest preview release of DateBk4 (currently 4.0d preview 6) has code in it to prevent the duplicate alarms.
I am using it on my VPr and I do not have duplicate alarms.

Good catch. I go to Pimlico's site but can never tell whether or not they've updated anything.

Steve.
