They're very nice people. Not altogether the most knowledgable bunch, but they're nice. I find it hard to get overly upset at them, when Omnisky users are having nearly identical problems.

My first modem, the one without the YY warez on it, functioned beautifully ('cept for that whole not charging issue...). The new one does not. It doesn't necessarily follow that YYs 'ware is to blame. Novatel's operating software may have changed too. Maybe Novatel isn't giving the saps at YY the whole story. Maybe the whole Springboard thing hasn't been perfected yet.

I'm annoyed as hell, too. But until such a time as I can actually remove the YY software from the module comes to pass, I'll refrain from jumping to conclusions.

It'll be a new thing for me.

Don't get me wrong. As much as I have had frustrating problems with the wireless modem, I have never had frustrating discussions with the customer service.

They bend over backwards to give an effort of solving it. Hey, maybe they have a bounty on whoever figures out the solution gets a bonus. I wouldn't mind chipping in.

When, per chance, will you be removing the software from the modem... I don't quite grasp what you are talking about.
