Red face VisorVision Comments

Nice job overall! Thanks so much for using Quicktime!

However, here are some things I noted that sort of ruined parts the experience:

1) The "VisorCentral" part in the beginning is too long, ugly, and lame. Get rid of it! It nearly doubled the ground-floor one! What's worse, is the fact that it's downright UGLY! The logo backshadow clashes with the Blue Visor. The low-resolution, even on the broadband version, does not help either. Just a quick lil' Visorcentral watermark would be better! If it's going to be long, make it a little more entertaining! (Like C-Net's!)

2) Who shot the video, and why is there no light on the camera? The seiko smartpad video was like watching two shadows! If a light is out of the option, choose your viewing angles with more care!

3) The smartpad video didn't show the product really working on the Visor. Just the guy drawing and explaining, and someone holding what looks like a Microphone. That really doesn't help.

Ok, these sound really critical and nitpicky, but as a graphiculator for websites I have to comment. These are just my opinions! I hope future VV films can benefit from this overly critical critical critique.

Welcome Back, BBllue, you're already in top form...

I agree, though, a light would be very helpful.

I like the stuff at the beginning, keep it.

someone who graphiculates

How about "Web Page & Graphics Designer"

It sounds too limited, like I only do html and .gif files. So I used the dubya technique.

I hope nobody finds that offensible.

I have ANOTHER question: Why streaming?

People cannot download it then, and must use up your bandwidth then to see it! Not to mention, then it could be higher quality video.

If hosting is a problem, maybe James can sign up for iTools.

AND GET RID OF THAT BEGINNING! IT'S T-O-O L-O-N-G !!!

Quicktime doesn't suck! Your computer does!

Once again, this is QUCKTIME! Nobody is requiring your video to stream, visorvision producers! Stop it with the streaming video, and go back to old-fashioned Quicktime!

hey I'm sorry abot uthat comment. I sitll dislike the quality I'm getting, but when I do get sound it's all sharp and clear. I was so frustrated though.. I broke down and cried for 5 minutes.. But than, I waited th horu to dl q5, and it does work now - barely. I get no video, but it sitll eats my bandwidth like I was watching it. I wish I could just downloada 2 mb video.. I HATE streaming in this case..

There you go! All better!

Is that you doing the interview questions, Miradu? It says James, but I thought you might be the one asking the questions. Not sure. Oh well. I really don't know why James didn't ask the questions himself. He's holding the mic!!!

Streaming is helpful for those with slower connections and allows the originating website more control over their content. It's very difficult to save streaming video to your hard drive; in fact, I believe it's currently not possible for Macintosh users (something I've read).

Updating to Quicktime 5 solved the sound problem .. probably another thing that should be noted on the pages as the test video works fine with whatever previous version I had on my system.

We will look into the sound issue - maybe it is the compression we are using for the sound.

Today we brought a light so the video should be brighter....

Thanks,

Marcus
