Has anyone gotten this to work? The RG-1000 is a Home/SOHO unit that's not quote an "Access Point" as Xircom defines it. When I use my laptop WiFi card, and I select an "Access Point" all the same parameters as on the Xircom come up, so it seems the RG-1000 is a subset of some kind. Probably need to call Orinoco/Agere.
thanks in advance,
paul

The only way I've gotten it to work with the xircom module is to put the rg-1000 as a dhcp server and put the xircom in dynamic mode. Also I downloaded the firmware update to the rg-1000 from their website.
If I try to use static IP addresses and let the access point just relay it doesn't work. I havn't had the time yet to troubleshoot in detail. When I tried static I could ping on my local network but trying to go out through my firewall it couldn't even talk to the internal nic on the firewall. Yet I could ping every other pc from the prism....very baffling. I think the problem is in the rg-1000 personally.
It does work great in dhcp and nat mode though. However the range in my building is not very good. We got these free from gateway as part of buying some laptops to evaluate and since they don't allow roaming will use these with the orinoco cards for our auditors on the road. I'll be getting real access points for here. I've been meaning to try out the dialup capabilities but haven't yet. If anyone has please advise on how well that works.
