Does anybody know if these exist? I just ordered a PDA Panache Custom Stylus, and I'm hoping that it will work out for me, but I have a feeling that the fact that it sticks out will bug me. Dosn't the Palm III use the same stylus as the Visor? I was looking at a 3 Pack of Palm styli when I bought my Visor and they looked identical. Now I know the Palm III has more aftermarket support for accessories, so I'll assume that somebody somewhere makes a stylus that fits in the Palm silo. Anybody know of one? I'll look around and see if I can find one. If I do I'll post it.

Peace

Um ok I just looked at the Palm III styli on the palm website and they do look a tad different, but they look like they still might fit. I think I might go up to CompUSA of Office Depot tomorrow and see if they do.

I don't have the answer the first question-- I don't own a PDA Panache Custom Stylus (my replacement stylis consists of the 5-pack from Handspring)

But on the second, a Palm III-series stylus will not fit into the Visor stylus silo. It's styli is just a tad larger in diameter than the Visor's.

The color 5-pack metal styli with a screw in 1 end & reset pin in the other fit perfectly flush at the top. Plus the flange top end makes them easy to remove & keeps them from rolling when you lay them down on a table top, etc. Also sold on amazon.com. & one now comes standard with the Visor.

I have a STABO stylus that I'm writing up a review on. It's very nice, anodized aluminum the same color as a blue Visor. (black and silver also available) Instead of using a flange out the side of the silo, the STABO has a ball at the top covering a pen. It ships with a set of seven covers so you can pick or even rotate them according to your mood. If anyone is interested I'll post my review here when it's done. The STABO isn't shipping internationally but when I e-mailed the company they offered to sell one to me--even if they had to address the envelope by hand. SimpleCom is planning on shipping to America as soon as they expand their production line. Check out http://simple.727.net/pen/index-e.html for more details.

Nope, sorry, Outlaw, the stylus for the Palm III does not fit. Somehow, the Palm III stylus (and the original PalmPilot stylus, which looks a lot like the Handspring one) does not fit at all in the Visor - it gets stuck about halfway in.

Outlaw,

I've had a PDA Panache Custom Stylus (black) for a couple of months. Yeah it does stick out a little, but it never bothered me. Sucker is heavy (brass). I really do like it. The end screws off to expose a nice reset pin that works.

Johnmcde-
Cool, I hope I like it...Does it make you cringe when you try to put it in all the way, or does it fit pretty good? I'd like to have it as far in as possible, but I don't want to have to worry about splitting my case in half every time.

BTW does it feel more like a real pen in your hand? I really don't like the feel of the stock stylus for writing graffiti.

Thanks
Peace

I must say that I love my PDApanache stylus (chrome). It works great, the top doesn't bother me at all and my character reconizition (spl?) has increased to nearly 100%. Now that I think about it the only problem that it does have is that the top starts to screw off by itself sometimes. This is not enough for me to take any action though and I would reccomend it any day.
BEN
PS. I've bought PalmIII stylus when I was waiting for my PDApanache to arrive and I can say what everybody else has been saying, they don't fit, but I do like the feel.

I own a PDA Panache and yes it does stick out a little bit. I find it to be more of a convenience than a hinderence though. You don't have to slide your finger across the side to get the stylus anymore--just grab the head. This is especially handy if you have a Rhodiana Visor Case--where I believe it was even suggested that you get a stylus that sticks out of the top because the case covers that "slide slit".

I must disagree with this. I've been using a PalmPilot (personal & Pro) stylus with no problems. They fit perfectly in my BVD, were obviously of better quality than the stock pos that came with my visor, and they were CHEAP! They come in three paks for about five bucks.

Joe:

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I believe the PalmPilot Personal and Pro use a stylus with a thinner gauge than the Palm III stylus. I do know for a fact that the Palm III stylus will not fit in the Visor's silo.

Concurring with Gameboy, the Palm III styli do not fit the Visor, and Joe is correct in that the Palm Pro and other pre-Palm III styli do fit. Joe simply made the slight mistake that pre-Palm III = Palm III.

Huh? I made a mistake?! Can't be!

I guess I was not specific enough. The part I disagreed with was the part about the Palm Pilot pro and personal stylus not fitting in the visor (the part in parenthesis, like these). I should have quoted only that portion. I'll have my wife spank me right now!
