James,
Do posts on VisorCentral fall into the public domain? Can our posts be taken from this sight and used to endorse products without consent from the poster? I think you know why I am posting this request (see Better Screen Protectors under accessories). I am primarily just curious so I will know how to handle future posts.
Thanks,
Stephen Mitchell

I support Mr. Mitchell on this. His thoughts are every bit as much his intellectual property as the so-called "original" idea of Mr. Warman. It would by hypocritical for Mr. Warman to use Mr. Mitchell's thoughts against his wishes.

I am not a lawyer but I believe one word applies here: copyright. It is my understanding that all "written" material is covered under copyright law, regardless of the context. I think VisorCentral can use ones comments here on this site since they are providing the service, but any third party must obtain the submitters permission first.
Legalities aside, it is just plain wrong to use someone's opinion to endorse a product without their consent.

We will check with our lawyer regarding the usage and copyright of posts; and how we can protect the material on the site without infringing on the authors rights.
