Re: Memory Question

geez, they sound identical.
except, one's a "Universal" DIMM and one is "SO-DIMM."

Webopedia says:

quote:

SO DIMM:
Short for Small Outline DIMM, a small version of a DIMM used commonly in notebook computers. Whereas a full-size DIMM has 168 pins and supports 64-bit transfers, a SO DIMM has only 72 pins, which supports only 32-bit transfers, or 144 pins, which supports a full 64-bit transfer.

do I get a consulting fee?

Unless your desktop is a new iMac. They use SO-DIMMs also.

The OWC guy told me they would both fit in the laptop. He also told me that I have 2 memory card slots. I do not (that I can see). I have also wasted $65 on 256MB when my goal was to get the other one eventually for 640MB, but oh well, 384 ought to scoot me by.
