well....

here's the thing... i don't know anything about charts. i was just interested in who we all are, and then when charts came up , i had to stall.

one more thing: a private email was sent to me in response to my response over the "race doesn't matter" issue. i'm sorry if i ruffled any feathers. it's just that i really truly feel that people are fooling themselves when they say race doesn't enter into a test group like this one. i think it's obvious (if not all the time, at least from my first post in which i specify my profession) i'm not a professional demographer... but that doesn't mean i 'm not interested in the data something like this yields: as are all of you awaiting charts i have no idea how to generate. in any case, i hereby publicly apologize for bringing anyone to task. in my zeal for truth, i stepped over the line. of course it's your right to withhold that information, or express your beliefs in its irrelevance. it was uncalled for criticism.

anyway. back to the task at hand

so... a call to arms. anyone who can make a chart... it's your turn to stand up and be proud, and give the people what they want. a fair and (somewhat but not quite) accurate representation of who they are.

really.

i could use a hand.

i'm really stuck.

like, i have no idea how to cull this info and do something useful with it.

i'm an actor, dammit.

Someone request demographical data for Visor Users?

Actually, the charts and graphs were the easy part (basic micro$haft excel); assembling all the data from user's posts, that took a bit more time,... ;-)

I totalled up all the responses, which as of the last post at 4:47 PM today, was 111. All of the charts and graphs are in my personal web directory, here:
http://www.phc.vcu.edu/~cashman/visor_data/

Enjoy! :-)

One more quick request: Since the data for this poll has been assembled, please do not post any additional messages to this thread. I believe that a sample size of 111 is sufficient to meet our needs for now. Instead of adding to this poll, how about answering the BATTERY LIFE POLL thread in this same General Visor discussion group,... ( if I get enough responses, that information could become quite useful,... ;-)

Thanks!

hey Cashman,

Great work!
I agree that collecting the data is the toughest part, onnce you have that, excel can create the graphs pretty easy.

Maybe you can add a link to this thread to your page...

To answer the question. . .

I am a 42 year old white male professor from upstate NY--just bought my Visor last month--it was actually a birthday present from my wife!

Wow I'm only the second (Third or fourth?) Visoree under 18? Suprising. Then again, maybe not.

Wyatt: You're 11? Thats pretty cool you know all this crap so young. Where did you come up with the money for a Visor anyway? Birthday/Christmas gift?

Matty: I totally agree with you about the race thing. Rascism is still alive in America, unfortunately. BTW it shows that you're an actor/artist

Cashman: You forgot the mixed people in your race chart! Some other dude was black and white, what did you put him as? Good job though I want to see some more polls like this!

Ok it's bedtime
Peace!
