Question

Innogear has two new upcoming modules listed on their Wireless Springboard page: the Mobile Access modem card and a Voice Access voice recorder/memory combo card. The Mobile Access looks like it fits flush with the Visor unlike Handspring's modem springboard, but it's hard to tell whether its a landline or, less likely, wireless. The links on the page aren't active yet but look like they will be any day. For what it's worth, the Mobile Access card is listed as "Coming Soon," while the Voice Access and InfoMitt aren't.

They also show some gadget that doesn't look like a module called Personal Jukebox with the blurb, "Store 120 CD's with 10 hours of playback." I'm guessing and hoping that this is relatively small box that allows you to store (and possibly rip?) MP3s for the MiniJam. Since the MiniJam can only store 64 mb worth of MP3 internally, it would be nice not to have to carry around a laptop to hold your MP3 record collection.

GameBoy70:

There don't seem to be much information at the site at the moment. None of the links work. But I think its an exciting time to be a visor owner. We will eb richly rewarded for our patience

I believe Creative Labs has this already basically.. The Nomad Jukebox. It has a 6GB hard drive and looks about the size of a normal CD player. Check it out, go to the CL website :-) It's around $500 I believe.

Re: Nomad Jukebox
Just so you know, it's $600 US and will (Apparently) be out Q2 2000.

Can't Wait to review this for the e-zine.

At least one of the links on the Wireless Springboard page is active: check out the info on the Personal Jukebox.

if I am correct then this product is actually made by compaq. It holds over a thousand mp3 but is fragile (its a darn hardrive in plastic whadda you expect) I don't think this product has anyway of interfacing with the minijam at all.

Question

Innogear's no longer handling the InfoMitt. It's now being distributed by Global Access. Their website has no timetable (not even "Summer") or FAQ. I'm going to email them and see if I can get more information.

It doesn't look good. The mailto link list on their page is actually a link to a FAQ page that's mostly technical support for paging services. I did find a message form that allowed by to send a note to the sales division, but I'm not holding my breath.

Felipe:

For the benefit of everyone on the BB, what did the reply say?

Game,

When I first found the site (a couple of weeks ago), none of the links worked. Most still don't.

Anyhow, I emailed the webmaster and told him/her.

The reply was:
We aren't "live" yet.

Exclamation

InnoGear has transfered the InfoMitt product to Global Access (aka www.wirelessspringboard.com). They will handle all questions about the InfoMitt...we have no information about pricing, timing, features, etc..

InnoGear is not involved with any of their other products...the two companies are not affiliated in any way other than our transfer of the InfoMitt product to Global Access.
