Question

Does anyone know where to purchase Handspring's hard plastic clip/case for the the Deluxe? I saw one in Compusa but when I went back to buy it they did not have any more. The clip resemebles the case for the Motorola Startac cellphone. The Visor slides in face foward and then the whole thing can clip to your belt. Please e-mail me if you know were to get it. I cannot find it on the Handspring website (or any other for that matter). It believe it manufactured by Handspring. Thank you.

Steve

I got one of those not too long ago. The clip broke on it within 2 weeks, shoddy design, should've used a metal axis instead of plastic tabs. Anyways, I call up HS, and they informed me that they no longer sell the belt clip. They sent me a sport case to replace it, and I like the sport case better. The belt loop takes a bit more effort to clip on, but it protects the unit better and doesn't stress the case.

I don't know - if I were you I'd search long and hard for one - I'm about to jump on ebay to see if I can't get a spare old one.

Yes - the clip part broke - I owned mine for about a year before the belt clip broke, but I still use it all the time because it provides the absolute best protection from dropping or being banged around while inside my briefcase or backpack. I love it - wouldn't trade it for anything. (except maybe a visor edge)

Talking Try Targus for a Case w. Sturdy Belt Clip.

I purchased a Targus leather case with a belt clip for my VDX at CompUSA about 9-12 months ago. I use it every day - and there is no sign of weakening or breaking of the clip.
- the clip is a leather covered u-shaped piece of 1/2" or so spring metal sewn to the back of the case. No loosening or signs of wear yet.
- has a velcro flap to close it. Easy in & out - on or off my belt. Good protection for my VDX also. I haven't used the cover since I got this case. [Actually I hadn't used it for a long time before that!].
- paid about $29.95 - well worth it!
A BONUS - because the top has a long piece of velcro on it, I can leave it a bit loose and fit 2 AA cells in the bottom of the case, below the VDX, so I always have extra batteries w. me!
All in all, I'm very happy.

It's the Leather Belt Case at: http://www.targus.com/case_pda.asp?pos=2
