Angry

Sorry for the *****ing, folks, but I am really frustrated with this whole CF (I am using the InnoPocket with a 64MB Kingston) usage issues that I have been facing. That, after taking days to make it at least being recognised by the VDX.

So, here are the challenges:
1. Can always copy anything to the CF, but when I try to transfer back to RAM, some programs seems to always crash the VDX, beyond softreset, most of the time. Some examples, DonkeyKong, Franklin Reader etc. (You can imagine how many times BackBuddy has saved my behind)

2. Our CF standards are not clearly defined yet, we constantly have to worry about hacks or other programs such as launchers that may "interfere" with the CF interrupts, bottom line, crash and reset again.

2. Sometimes I have to change my the CF + Springboard for my other modules, upon sticking it back in, it says "CF not detected" when I launch FAFileMover. I have to take it out, stick it in, try again, and then again, before FFM recognises it.

Sheesh, the amount of manhours spent of figuring, putting up with crash and resets (somebody should write a song about this), testings and retestings, backup reinstalls...I really wonder if it's worth the investment.

So question.

1. What should I use the CF for, if I have to put up with some much crap?
2. Is there some site I can go to to where all the gurus of CF and some *****ers like me can find what to do and not to do.

Please help.

This should not be happening. Which version of FAFileMover are you using? 1.1.6 did have a serious bug that caused problems copying PRC files from CF to RAM. Version 1.1.7 should fix this and is in beta testing right now.

A true "plug and play" FlashAdapter will solve most of those problems. FlashAdapter vendors are working on such solutions as we speak.

This is a know problem that affects a few users. Kopsis is looking into it, but any additional info you can provide (such as other modules that tend to trigger it) would be helpful.
