My first impression is good. I like the fit and function. The case protects the screen with a stiff cover. The cover has a place for a few cards and a twenty but could never replace my money clip.

It looks good. The stitching is good. There is a hole in the proper place for IR. There is even a hole for the microphone (if I ever use it). There is a cut out slot to make getting the stylus out easier. The engineering is well done.

Two problems.

First, about an hour after I first used it, I found some Velcro dandruff on my screen. Be sure to brush out the Velcro before you use it.

Second, I had a bit of trouble getting it to hotsync in the case although I was able to get it to work in about ten minutes. The cradle has a small tab that links into the back of the Visor to keep it in place while it hotsyncs. EB sent a small round sticker to put on the back of the Visor where this tab holds the Visor. This "extends" the hole so the cradle has something to grab onto.

At first, this did not seem to work either. I then firmly pushed the Visor into the case and have had very little trouble since. I doubt putting the sticker on had any effect at all. I probably just did not seat the Visor far enough into the case.

All in all, I like it. It gives some protection without being bulky. I doubt it could stand a real fall onto concrete but I cannot remember ever dropping my cell phone so I am going to take that chance.

Cool

Nice case. I had a problem syncing in the case at first... I think that it just needed a few hours for the leather to conform more fully to the Visor..works great now.
what I like:

1. Compact.. form fitting
2. well made
3. IR in case
4. Hotsync in case
5. can access stylus in case
6. can exchange standard modules in case

Actualy, now that I think about it, there is very little that I can think of to complain about. If you are looking for a form fitting leather case, and carry your Visor in pocket, this is a very good choice.

Can you tell me how the Visor is held in the E & B case? Is it a "sewn-in attachment device" or some other method? Also, will the case interfere with Springboard modules?

Lastly, did you get the standard case or the belt clip one? I'd like to know whether the belt clip "button" gets in the way when holding the Visor.

Just got my EB Slipper case and I love it. Very compact and fits tight without any permanent (i.e. velcro) attachments. The cover provides decent protection for the screen and flip style case makes it quick and easy to use. Only downside is it does not provide much padding in case of accidental drops...but then that would add bulk.
Great case!!!!!!!!

Question

Did anyone get this case with the belt clip? I wasn't too sure how big the clip is and whether or not it would be uncomfortable in a front pocket (I don't always want it on my belt).

Thanks

I have the belt clip. It is great! It is very comfortable and releases and engages very easily. I posted a review in this topic if you are interested. The belt clip is the only way to IMHO. But I realize some will feel uncomfortable being "hip" with their PDA's

I just wanted to mention that I Emailed the ebslipper people asking how long it will be backorded. So for anyone else still waiting (been over 3 weeks for me so far) here is what they said. So anyone yelling about waiting 6 weeks for a Visor in the past, Handspring isn't alone in getting thins out in a timely manner. Actually this is probably good since it means that Visor accessories are in high demand.

_____________QUOTE_______________

We are expecting another shipment in about 2 weeks. We have been selling out
the shipments before
they are received. We are selling them on a first come first serve basis.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

I just got the Slipper case. My impressions are that it's a good case, but the picture on E&B's website are too small to see details. One thing I don't like is that the buttons are covered with plastic. Another caveat is that there is velcro, and the hook velcro is on the flap, so it will snag on your necktie if you happen to flip too much or put it on your lap when you're sitting down. Also, hotsyncing is tricky. Overall, a nice case. Maybe it will "work" in some.

I was thinking about getting the slipper, but any problems with the PDA Panache stylus and the tight fit of the slipper?
Thanks!!

Thumbs up

I got the EB Slipper about two weeks ago. IMHO, it's the best case on the market for a very professional look and ease of use. Execellent form factor and accessability. No problems at all synching in the case. I didn't get the belt clip (didn't want anything hanging off my belt except my pager) and carry it in my inside jacket pocket or outside pocket of my portfolio.

Shipping was within a week at the time. Think there was more demand for the belt clip model.

Again, a great choice for the professional!

How easy is it to get the Visor out of the EB Slipper for battery changes, etc?

I just changed my batteries for the first time. It took about one second to slide my visor out of the case and another to slide it back in.

Just got the slipper w/beltclip and it's really everything I thought. First rate design and material.

But I haven't been able to get it to hotsync in the case 'cause the leather makes it just a wee bit thick for the cradle.

So the question becomes -

Do I really have to use the sticky to extend the cradle slot in the back?

Plus - does anybody have an idea where we can get extra belt clips. Always like having spares. Guess it's a left over from either the scouts or the infantry.

Unhappy

Looks like a great case. I ordered one, but have been on backorder now for a week, so there are some delays.

Almost THREE weeks and still waiting for it to ship. Lady at EB said they expected a shipment some time around 2/14. Not holding my breath.

Hey Bubba and others waiting,
It is worth the wait. The case is everything I expected! I had to wait a month.

The belt clips can be had at major electronic stores or places with cell phones (the clip system is used on Nokia's). We've got the clips (couple of brands) in Best Buy and Circuit City. You can also get stick on buttons (3M adhesive foam, very strong bond).

I had hotsync problems at first also. I had to use the spacer and the first couple of times required a lot of downward pressure to flatten out the leather. But after a couple of days, there is very little pressure required for hot sync. Great case!

Question

I will be buying the InfoMitt from Innogear as soon as it is available in the next month or two. Right now I am just using the plastic cover that came with my Deluxe because it is small and easier/more comfortable to carry around in my pocket. I am in the market for a case with better protection than the plastic, but also need to plan ahead for the small antenna that the InfoMitt has protruding from the top.

So my basic needs for a case are:
1.) protection
2.) slim and comfortable in front pocket
3.) able to accomodate the InfoMitt.

Please post any suggestions you may have. Are there currently any cases that will allow for Springboards with protruding parts?

So that you have a better understanding of what exactly the antenna looks like and where it is in relation to the visor, please see these pictures: http://www.innogear.com/im.htm

p.s. - sorry for the double post, I probably should've put it here the first time
