Hi there! I have read an article on how to make a recharging cradle out of the normal serial cradle. Is anyone out there who knows how to modify a USB one?
Thanks

The USB cradle would use the same pin (#7 - VDOCK) for recharging as the serial cradle. Pins 2, 3, 4, and 7 are the same on both.
1 RXD (serial)
2 KBD (not used on USB)
3 HS1 (both)
4 GND (both)
5 USB_D- (USB)
6 USB_D+ (USB)
7 VDOCK (both - currently not used by either)
8 TXD (serial)

About 9 months ago I followed those instructions and made two rechargable cradles (one serial for work, one USB for home). (btw. a great place to get pc boards made is at http://www.expresspcb.com) It works fine and I haven't changed a battery since. Be warned that using the VDOCK pin and modifing it to connect to the batteries may interfear with future accessories, like perhaps the rechargeable Springboard Cell Phone. I don't know how they recharge it, but if they supply a special cradle with it, then this mod to your visor will make it dangerously incompatable. And of course, it will void your warrentee big time.

Thanks guys....
I'll think again if I should go ahead and modify it.
I'll be a much happier Visor user if recharging is a build-in feature, even if that means spending 30 bucks more...
