Always on e-mail?

Rumors around talk about an Always on e-mail on the new Palm 705. For people with GPRS this is great stuff...

Anyone out there knows of any software like this? I mean, if alarms are activated with Visor off, because of an interrupt from the OS being sent to an app that requested to be notified, why not an e-mail checker?
