I am experiencing the exact same problem on my brand new Visor DX received Thursday 2/24/00. My problems started within 30 minutes of removing it from the box. I'll post a followup of my experiences with customer support.

I have them sending me a new one. I called 2 days in a row. I do get it to work by soft reset but find batteries only last 5 or 6 days. Must be a bad batch of dx's.

Based on your experiences, I also called and asked for a replacement.

I had the same problem. My batteries went dead after just 3.5 days with with less that 3 hours actual usage!

I'm guessing there's some sort of short on the board that possibly affected an entire shipment.

I hope they don't send me another lemon. If they do, I'm sending it back and getting a Palm instead.

Sorry Handspring, I've been rooting for you since day one, but this experience really disappointed me. From reading this board, it seems that I'm not alone.

Good luck attracting and keeping customers.

Hi,
I called tech support and customer care about a diff problem yesterday (Sunday) and both times some mexican guy picked up......he said if i send my visor in then they will send me a new one.......he then gave me an RMA and an address to send it to. My question is: Isnt handsprings policy that they send you new visor then you send them the old one? Also i decided to look up the address before i send it and the street that he told me didnt even exist in that city........i think he was a janitor or something....did anyone have this kind of experience before...........I think i will just call them tomorrow.

Yes they do send it first with a attached slip to return in the same box. When I received my new one it worked fine. I have since sent the old one back and all is happy.
