Cool

I had been shopping around for a case for my visor for some time, and finally found one that almost fit my needs perfectly. I didn't want any velcro (it's just plain tacky, and draws too much attention), I wanted bussiness card holders, and place for some cash, a stylus holder that would accomidate a Pilot Pentopia stylus, and a holster to hold the visor itself. I found this case at Franklin Covey (which doesn't seem to be available anymore, since they are introducing a new line of cases now. I picked mine up at CommpUSA for $69.00 [they are usually $99.00 but FCovey was having some sort of sale]).

When I bought the case, I really didn't like having the 6-ring binder in there (what's the point of having a paper organizer and an electronic organizer in the same case?!). So I decided to take it out

First I pried off the 6 ring binder attachment with a screwdriver (it just held with a couple bendable teeth, so this was easy).

Next I cut a small slit at the top of the case
(where you can see a sewn up version of above), and worked for a couple hours pulling back all the double stick tape between the leather and the metal plate that was holding the 6 ring binder attachment.

After I got all the tape detatched, I just pulled real hard and the metal plate came out.

Then (here's the hardest part) I sewed in 4 peices of elastic band. One peice on the bottom of the battery, one peice on the top (the one on the bottom was to make it look nicer, otherwise there would be yellow foam junk showing). Sewing through leather is really hard! I suggest a leather glove to protect your fingers from torture.

Here's a scan of the finished case.

And another scan showing the batteries in the elastic holders I sewed in.

that's all for now I think.

Good job Vertigo!
(Leather gloves might not be a good idea, sometimes you push on the needle hard enough to go through the glove too! Needle nose pliers and a piece of hard plastic can be of use.
My local (Albany, NY) Franklin/Covey store has a ton of E-Pockets and Palm binders for sale right now- people interested in this idea might check their local F/C store.
