Question Visor Prism and Voice recording

I posted this orginally on palminfocenter.com, but then thought this might be the better place for it. ~ phil

I would appreciate any comments from anyone who is familiar with Admobis ProRecord Digital Voice Recorder Springboard.

In particular, is the audio recording clear enough that you could place it on an "average-sized" conference table during a meeting and capture the participants voice?

Also, while it is recording, can you use the Prism for anything else? I find this to be the downfall of Targus Total Recall. While it is recording, you can't check dates, add notes to other items, etc. AND, when in the battery-shuttle, it only records in "Best" mode, limiting its use in meetings.

Am I barking up the wrong tree...should I just be going out and buying a stand-alone digital recorder. Prorecord has some nice features but at $100 +shipping, that money could go towards and excellent stand-alone.

All comments greatly appreciated.

~ Phil

Do any of those stand-alone units let you dump your audio to a PC as .wav or other standard audio files? I think radio shack had one last year that would let you do that. I think it took VGA photos, too! Of course it had a limited built-in memory, but it might be enough for what you want.
