Thumbs up

My Springboard Ideas:

*GameBoy/Color adapter
Wouldn't you like to have access to all 500+ GameBoy/Color Games on your Visor?

*Color Camera w/Flash
Just because you can't see the pictures on your Visor in color doesn't mean you can't control settings on the Visor. Would need acceptable resolution (from 640x480 - 1024x768) and memory card storage, as well as viewfinder and flash.

*AM - FM radio
Just a plain, simple AM/FM radio with external volume / station controls and it's own battery. External headphone jack. Also have Palm software to store stations.

*Camping accessory
A SpringBoard that can track temperature changes (turn on every hr. and record data), baro. pressure, altimeter, bright flashlight, and pocketknife. Would be nice if it could be used stand-alone with LCD panel on top.

*Wireless Internet
Similar to the Palm 7 capabilites, except faster (possibly) and real web browsing with Java capabilities and E-Mail.

These are just my personal SpringBoard opinions. Feel free to add to these opinions.

Thanks

Wife: "Honey, where's the can opener?"
Husband: It's on my new PDA thing - just pop that springboard out but DON'T SCRATCH MY SCREEN!

The question that should be asked whenever a Springboard is created is this:

"Will incorporating this into the Visor make the idea substantially better than if it was a stand-alone product?"

For instance, the cel phone is a great idea, since having it connected to your address list is a great idea. However, I don't see a pocketknife/flashlight as being worthwhile. Now, a flashlight/pocketknife as a stand-alone product is a great idea.

I read in an interview with the Visor guys that someone is thinking of making a fish-finder springboard!

I like the idea of the SIX PACK that will be coming out, except this is what I'd put into it:

1. Vibrating Alarm (Will be in the Six Pack)
2. Wired Modem (Will be in the Six Pack)
3. Cell Phone (NOT in Six Pack)
4. Wireless Modem like OmniSky http://www.omnisky.com (not in Six Pack)
5. 8 meg flash (Will be in Six Pack) Wish it was 16
6. MP3 Player

Personally, I think that EVERY springboard made should also include an extra IR port at the top of the unit, to allow head-to-head beaming. That should be extremely easy to do.

I want a smartmedia adaptor. I read someone somewhere was doing a replacement back for a IIIx, but never saw where or how much. This would have 2 benefits, first expand the memory cheaply, carry around several smartmedia cards with the info on them. Secondly, I could take the pictures with my digital camera, then directly load them to the web without having to carry my laptop around.
