Question Opinions on the MiniJam

I am so tempted right now. The $79 offer seems really good, but Iwas wondering my users "real" world experience has been?

Specifically:
1. Does it make the Visor really bulky?
2. Hows the battery drain?
3. Anybody use it actively? (gym, walking, riding a stationary bike, etc.)
4. How long is 32 mb of music?

...and anything else you can add.

Thanks!

1. yeah. i think so
2. bad. like 2-3hrs on a set
3. well, its digital, so it's not going to skip or anything.
2. 1/2 hour at ~cd quality. but the whole selling poibnt of the minijam is that you can buy more and bigger memory cards. it has 2 memory card slots, and the 32mb card only takes up one of them.

Cool irock

well I posted my orginal messge before I saw the thread a couple lines before mine. Since then (10 mins or so) I think I have decided against a Springboard and am going to get an irock 64 mb for $20 bucks more.

Gotta go and order now.

Opted for the Minijam over the Irock and haven't regreted it.

My Prism isn't that bulky with the module.

The battery life isn't that bad. I listened to 64mb of music without having any problems. The screen will shutdown after a few minutes, which helps in the battery life.

I usually use it at the desk or in the lazy boy taking a nap. The Irock may look good for active listening but there is no belt clip or carrying case.

32mb will give you about 30 minutes of music.

The Irock is a good device but I didn't want to add another device to my backpack. I keep the Prism with me when I go to work, at home and when traveling. It's easier to keep an additional module than a seperate device.

I may eventually get a stand alone MP3 and if I do it will likely be the Irock. The Smartmedia format is not as expensive as the MMD format and the 64mb of onboard memory is nice. If your going to be an avid listener then the stand alone would probably be better.

I don't think you can go wrong either way.
