Question

Hello... I have never owned a PDA before and have never really looked at the Palm IIIx or V. The only display I have seen was the PalmPro. I just want to know if that is all I have seen and I have never used a PDA before would I/should I be conserned with the small differnces between the 2 diplays.

Thanks

Are you talking between the IIIx and the V? If so, I wouldn't be too terribly worried about it. Despite my concern about the Visor screen being more like the IIIx than the V, it really isn't that bad of a deal, especially if you compare either of those with the Palm III and older.

Despite reported streaking problems with the IIIx, it really is a decent screen -- much more readable than the III in moderate light, and even some more dim light.

I do, however, think the V has the ultimate monochrome screen... no streaking, very black, high contrast pixels. Simply the best. Not counting the Visor, since I haven't seen the screen, the IIIx screen is probably #2. (Visor might be #1.5)

If you were talking about difference between the PalmPro and the IIIx/V screens, then you don't have to worry at all about differences because I think you'll find a unanimous vote declaring the IIIx/V/Visor screens MUCH better than the PalmPro screens.

Thumbs up

The Gageteer Review compared the V and Visor screens and came to the conclusion that the V is just slightly sharper, so slight you may not notice unless you closely examine them side by side (that's my take on her comments, read the full review elsewhere on VisorCentral).
Not having either, I have no personal experience, but it should be better than any of the old ones (III and older)

The Visor uses a screen that is somewhere between the IIIx and the V. Compared to the Palm III or PalmPilotPro, the Visor is much] clearer. You will not be disappointed.
