Question

I say it's about time. I wonder how this will hurt Palm m500 sales?

Cool And people thought I was nuts...

Many people here hammered me about five months ago because I felt Handspring didn't offer any incentive to help loyal customers migrate to newer toys.

Hey, even Microsoft offers a discount for Office users.

Anyway, I'm glad to see it happen. I can't say I'm really interested until I see a color Edge, but I'm glad Handspring has heard the pleas of its customers.

In the end, they're making money. And $299 is probably where this thing needs to be, anyway. And it's not about saving major bucks, it's about wanting some sign that your long-time business is appreciated.

Many people hammered you about five months ago because you posted a very whine-laden post in about 10 different areas. Many people here, myself included, thought your idea was fine. The level of hysterics you worked yourself into got old pretty quick, though.

Well...

I see you're as friendly as ever. If only the world could be as perfect as you.

I bow to your supremeness.

And the point is... I'm glad Handspring is doing it.

Thanks, Dick.

Was I wrong? Because when I read how that thread progressed, it seems pretty clear to me that you got "hammered" for whining. Most people agreed that it would be good form for HS to offer said trade-up program, but you're the only one that threw a tantrum. I'm not going to sugar-coat it for you.

Nice lead in for such a simple point.

Thanks, Dick.

Always happy to oblige.

I'm glad I took advantage of this. I had an edge earlier and returned it due to the problems with resetting itself. I hope this one will be ok, and if its not well Handspring's customer service is still excellent. Its funny I didn't know who you were responding to and had to log out and read this thread again. Thank goodness for the "ignore" option!

Question Looks like I'm upgrading (Fingers Crossed)

I have a buyer for my Deluxe on E-Bay and as soon as the Palpal transfer shows up I am ordering a Red Edge. I am a little apprehensive after some post I've read. But I really want the tinner form factor. I do hope that someone comes up with a Springboard adapter thats a little better than the Handspring. I don't have any springboards yet, but would at least like to get a backup or extra storage on SM.

And maybe if someone comes up with a CDMA phone module that works well with the Edge.

A keyboard is in the future.
