So until early 2000, there are no handsprings coming out that I want, which leads me to wonder:
Should I buy a Palm to tide me over until the handsprings actually come out?
Can't it do pretty much everything the Visor can do (until better handsprings come out)?
The Visor is supposed to ship in October and since it costs less than the Palm units. If you can wait until October, I would.
If your international, you should try to find an American willing to act as a middle man for you and get one that way.

I think you may be referring to the "Springboard" expansion modules, right? Handspring is the name of the company.
Soon enough I imagine the Visor Solo will drop in price down to the $100 range, and when that happens, they will make great single-purpose devices when coupled with certain springboard modules. i.e. the main unit would be the springboard module, with the Visor serving as the controller.

I meant a modem CABLE and a hot sync cable. Not an actual modem.
