Does anyone know how to change my palm user name on my device?
(i mean the name appears e.g. when hotsynching)

Just do a user rename on the desktop. The next time you sync the name on the device will change.

Do keep in mind that some commercial software relies on the palm user name. These are the ones where you had to supply the palm user name at the time of purchase.
If you change your user name, those programs will no longer function.
