that when i hotsynced it with the computer, it added lots of the programs i had before. i think they are the programs i added at my last hotsync. i just wanted to say that if your visor gets screwed up because of too many hacks, don't be afraid to hard reset. it is a tramatic thing to do, because i dont have quite as much stuff on it as i had before, but i was expecting a lot worse, as i am a first time pda user.

Try a warm reset first if repeated soft resets don't work. That'll potentially deactivate lots of wayward code and allow you to delete it. Make sure you backup (module or dedicated backup software), and read the FAQ.

Warm Reset??? I've heard of a soft reset (have to do a lot of these for some reason) and hard resets, but a warm reset? What does it do, and how do you do it?

Well, as somebody pointed out, I've described the warm reset in my FAQ but forgot to tell how to actually do it... The FAQ has been updated but not yet posted, so:

It's just a reset with the upscroll key pressed. Works on the Palms and the Visors. It's not in the Visor manual, and I'm told not in the IIIe manual either. Dunno about the other Palms.

yeah, i tried doing a warm reset many times, but there was something wrong with the line of code 2346 or something like that. im not quite sure what caused it, but i was not able to access any of my programs.

For those who have trouble with hard resets: In order to perform a *completely* hard reset to remove wayward codes/programs, I've found that it is necessary to remove the batteries for at least 20 minutes to fully discharge the RAM capacitors that keep the RAM alive. Otherwise, you may end up with the same fatal messages or endless reset loops...
