I had the same thing happen. No fault of my own - just one day one of the clips wouldn't snap shut. I fiddled with pliers on it but that only scarred the case. Send it back if it is within warranty - that was the only way I could fix it...

ThinkOutside has some of the best customer support I have come across.

I have this problem too. Don't I contact Targus, though?

Actually every Stowaway I've ever seen in a retail store (Circuit City, Gateway) has that problem. I figured it was just a result of hundreds of people folding and unfolding the keyboard everyday...

i'm on my third stowaway and have never had this problem. they've all worked wonderfully. the first one i ended up selling with my deluxe. second one i dropped in the tub and shorted out the left side of the keyboard and the third one (current one) has no probs.

i open and close mine multiple times every day.

It is made by ThinkOutside and sold/branded by Targus. You could probably go to either company.. I'd try Targus first, I guess. Otherwise go to www.thinkoutside.com

I actually bought mine with a VDX on ebay. Some of the keys quit working, so I called ThinkOutside to see what could be done. After only a couple minutes they were getting my info to send me a replacement. They never asked how long I had it, who I bought it from, or anything else like that.

so will they send me one, and i send this one back? or will they get it, fix it, and send it back?

my other question is that my stowaway has taken more abuse than normal wear and tear.... i used to keep it in my backpack where it would be dropped on, scratched, dented, etc.... it looks pretty bad...

will that be under warranty (probably not)?

I also had the same problem but thought it was something I had done, although I take really good care of my accessories. Anyway, after reading this I contacted Targus via e-mail. I had an amazing response from them. They asked me to ship it back to them. I sent it second day delivery and they sent me a new one back within two days. I was extremely impressed with the customer care that Targus has. Perhaps you should contact them.

Good luck.

I agree - they do have very good support (Targus). I returned my first one because of the one corner not engaging and two months ago returned another one because it was acting all funky - entering keystrokes I didn't type, not entering ones I did type, and sometimes not responding at all. When I called Targus the Rep suggested I reinstall this and that and reset and... I interrupted him and let him know that I knew it was the keyboard since I had my wife's next to mine and everything worked fine with hers. Fairly fast return time and both times the replacement has been a new replacement and apparently not a refurbished unit.
