Hi all,

Just got my Deluxe, and I'm loving it. This is after many months with a IIIc, so yes, you can go back to monochrome...

Anyway, the Omnisky webpage mentions that their service is only for the Plat, Prism and Edge. Will it or will it not work with the Deluxe? I read something on this board about if your Deluxe has a black board above the batteries, that it will work but it won't be optimized, or something like that.

What's the bottom line? Thanks very much.

According to this OmniSky FAQ, their browser requires PalmOS 3.3 while the VSR and VDx have 3.1x. Officially, that would be no.

However, read through some of these threads and you will find some success stories about using OmniSky on a VDx.

YadaYada had its Minstral modem (novatel) working with the latest VDX. If you have an older one (some kind of radio frequency thing didn't allow you to use yadayada Minstral with it) you can swap it for free at Handspring.com. But yadayada is going out of business so I'm not sure what is happening to its current customers.

Just to be clear. The Minstrel S modem itself works with the Deluxe. It is Omnisky's software that doesn't. YadaYada did, but, alas, it appears that they are no more.
