Is there any way to make the alarms on the Visor louder? I must be going deaf. I've got them set to High.

you are not deaf... unless I went deaf at age 26 too...

I'm afraid there is no way to make the sound louder... maybe if we buy the 6-pack from innogear we can use that speaker instead of the standard one...

Cool

I have to say the alarm is really hard to hear in a not so quiet environment if the visor is put in the pocket. I would be very happy if the sound could be louder.

From the FAQ on their web site, it is very possible that the speaker on the six-pak can NOT be used for alarm. When talking about alarm, the FAQ says it can be set to use the Visor built-in speaker, flash light or vibration. The six-pak speaker is not mentioned.

On my Palm 1000, you could drill little holes in the back to let out more sound. I don't know if that would work here. I can't seem to find a little hole for the sound on my Visor.

I use 3 Alarm -- it doesn't make it louder, but at least it can go off for longer so I have a better chance to hear it!

Well I do know if you install a hackmaster hack called treksounds (which I love)it replaces the default sounds with much better ones. The alarm sound is very "noisy" and can be heard much better than the default alarm. While it maybe isn't louder it is higher pitched and of longer duration.

Also since you guys are talking about alarms. Mine doesn't seem to be working.
The alarm when set in Datebook+ should go off and if the Visor is on or off the time I set just goes by and nothing.

Anyone else have this problem? Does yours go off?

I go into Datebook+, open todays date in the calendar, set a time for say 5 min from now
select details then check the alarm box and I get the alarm icon on the screen but I never hear it.
yes the alarm is set to high under prefs I even turned off all hacks etc.. nothing, no alarm.
The Visor does make sounds okay when I change settings or sync etc

I guess I must actually have a defective unit. This is solid and works great for everything else except I also get really bad time on my NIMH batteries. I am going to try another set of alkalines to see but the batteries seem to last only about 4 hours for me using runtime. Even with afterburner (yes turned it off to test alarm) set to normal or off.

Ideas?

If you are setting the alarm for 5 minutes from now and then waiting for it to go off, you might not hear it because the default on the Visor is for the alarm to go off 5 minutes prior to the actual time you set. I was doing the same thing and wondering why it wouldn't work. Check that default pre-alarm setting.

Just yesterday I discovered this. Thanks.
I think I was just testing the thing and wasn't paying attention that it goes off 5 min before. I played with it some more and figured it out. I thought that would be a weird problem since the rest of the Visor is working great except my lousy battery life. That isn't the Visors fault though I wouldn't think.
