Does Handspring Read these Boards?

This is a great board. It makes you think that with some of the mistakes Handspring has made in terms of design of some of its products...what would it cost their design groups to check out this board regularly and get some ideas from the people that matter, Handspring Customers!

For example, I think the Visophone should have a speakerphone. A friend of mine has a new Motorola from Nextel and it has a tremendously loud speakerphone. So why doesn't the VisorPhone have one when it makes sense to have one on a PDA phone? Or how about a volume control on the Headset Wire? Etc.

My point is that Handspring should be checking these boards and implementing some of the better ideas here. There have been a number of astounding ideas here regarding the Treo. Yet I bet that none of them get implemented because Handspring seems to no have much regard for demands of the masses any longer.

While they can't, won't, or don't acknowledge a presence here (imagine what would happen to the poor soul that says "Hi, I work for Handspring!"), I'm sure Handspring at least monitors the goings-on here, as well as other Visor related sites. Perhaps Jeff and Donna themselves don't read the forums, but I'm sure several of their minions do.

As for that volume control, have you tried the Up and Down buttons on the Visor? They control the headset/speaker volume.

Arrow Yes

I think that Handspring not only montor these boards, but people that work for the company post here as well. Of course they can't come out and say they are form handspring like CardAccess etc.

Also, I am sure that Handspring does focus groups on "real" users of the Visor. The vast majority of users on this board do not reflect the main PDA demographic. MOst of use aer power users that want MP3, Voice recorder, Bluetooth and a frying pan built into a PDA that is only 0.2" thick and weight 3 ounces.

I haven't checked lately, but right after the Treo was announced I noticed hits to my signature graphic from Handspring.com in my server logs (The graphic is served from my own server.)

So yes, assuming that their corporate network and/or firewall is set up with handspring.com as its domain, somebody from Handspring peruses the boards, at least after major product announcements.
