Exclamation

Howdy! [no, I'm not Texan, I'm Canadian]

I was just messing around with my Visor, and guess what happened?! I found out how to change the battery meter to Ni-Cad, and turn off the Auto-Off!
All that you have to do is:

1. Make a brand new memo.
2. Graffiti the shortcut icon in
[the one that looks like a 'l' in handwriting].
3. Tap Graffiti area twice.
4. Enter a one-digit number [see below].
5. A message in []s will be written onscreen.

Messed up shortcuts:

1 - Have a reset pin handy. The top left corner of your Visor will start flashing, and it will freeze up.

2 - Nothing

3 - Switches the Auto-Off off

4 - Your name and a 5 digit number will flash up on the screen [don't ask me what the number means]. If you do this another time, it will say 'no name available' instead.

5 - Nothing

6 - Writes out the date and time for you.

7 - Changes your battery meter's display from Alkaline to Ni-Cad to Rechargeable Alkaline.

8 - Sorry, LightHack. The backlight will be reversed. Lucky for all of you who hate the new backlight.

Have fun.

[Oh yeah, and if you want to reverse the effect, just enter the messed shorcut again. For number seven, just keep on going until you find your battery.]

ummm....you list .5 as doing 'nothing'. if i remember correctly, it (or .2) puts your visor into some 'open' mode which will result in your batteries draining. I don't remember the site (i'm not on my computer right now to find the 'favourite' link) but it lists what each of these shortcuts does. You may want to search through the forums to find it. that way you can get your visor out of this mode....

P.S. I'm canadian too!

Calvin's PGHQ FAQ discusses the dot commands here.

Also check out Undocumented Palm Info 2.0 which includes info on the dot commands, as well as other useful stuff. It is available as a Palm DOC.
