Exclamation

Twice this week, my Prism has had a fatal exception as I was adjusting the brightness. All my installed applications and data were wiped out. Has anyone else experienced this when adjusting the brightness? The following are some of the apps I have installed: TealDoc, TealInfo, TealEcho, Tealnotes, TealMovie, HackMaster, BigClock, Wordsmith, AvantGo, MemoPlus, Handyshopper2(Beta),Palmchord, Runtime, and a bunch of games.

Angry

It happened again! Is nobody else seeing this problem when adjusting brightness? Each time it has happened when lowering the brightness. Should I return my visor?

I have not had this problem on my prism...

From the list of software you posted I would first suspect on of them... especially hackmaster and any demo software. I'm not badmouthing hackmaster but if you start messing with the operating system you should expect crashes. You must evaluate your installed software and decide if it is really that necessary or is it just "neat"?

What was the last few progs. loaded? suspect them first.

the hard way

Do a hard reset. Install applications one at a time, adjusting the brightness about 3 times between installs and you will find it. This is definitely the hard way, but the alternatives, explosive os, unsatisfactory refurb, are worse imho.

Thanks, unfortunately the exception does not happen that consistently so this process could take me a long time. I already have a new one coming from Handspring (their tech support was very accomodating and helpful). Are you saying Handspring sends refurbs as replacement?
