Question Visorphone Essentials?

Ok, I am getting a visor phone deliverd in a couple weeks and I just wanted to know as much as I an before it comes and I pop it in and get a fatal error

So what do you guys think are the top five things I should know about the Visorphone in terms of:

+compatibility issues
+software
+usage

My setup now is a VisorPrism running Gobar and afterburner clocked at 52mhz. I also have the matchbookdrive with the VFS enabled, but once thae phone is in the SB slot I am guessing none of that will be an issue.

thanks for any help

Not much to say...

Well, there really isn't much to say. There hasn't been any third-party software that works with the VisorPhone, except for ActionNames (it has some capability to dial a contact from it's address book db).

I can't say much Gobar or Afterburner as I don't use those programs.

I do have a FlashPlus adapter w/ the VFS software; there hasn't been any problems switching between the two modules.

If you want a case

Take a look at a EB case for Prism & VisorPhone .

I would definitely get a case. I'm using the one that is from Handspring. I was lucky to get it for free when the Visorphone shipments were delayed last November.

This case has definitely made it easier to carry the Visor with visorphone. If I didn't have the case, I probably would not carry the VPhone as much.

If I ever lost or damaged my case, I would definitely get another one...it's very handy!

Yes There are 3rd party Apps for VP.

There are a lot of 3rd party software that work with Visor Phone. If the software use Serial and use Standtard GSM AT command set It will work with visor phone.

PocketTerm let you play around with AT command on VP.

PhoneManager from Palm Mobile Internet Connection Kit is much better SIM manager then HandSpring one. You can copy from your Phone book to SIM without messing with Speed Dial on VP.

S25 PhoneManager will query set AT command to visor and let you get more info about your phone. So does My Phoene.

Monkey Software you can play whith them. I have Monkey Tone. I was beable to send SMS out of there but I still havn't figure out how to send Ringtones from it.

Thnere were other SMS, GSM, Serial phone software for Palm i was playing around with. Now I just need to way to make Debugger for VP's GSMlib.
