Angry Computer locks up during sync

It's been doing this lately. It cleared itself up a few days ago, but I just swapped boards - from a 2MB to 8MB. I can get it to sync with absolutely nothing on it (stock programming), but I can't load anything on it to sync without the computer freezing and locking up. Of course, the sync never finishes.

The only reason I got it to sync in the first place with the new board was I installed the desktop software again (while I moved the original to another directory). But like I said, I can't load anything to the Visor.

8MB isn't better than 2MB when you can't use it. Any suggestions?

(BTW, I tried reinstalling the 2MB, and I can completely sync the apps back on, but the computer will still freeze)

URG!!!!

First, make sure that you have everything important backed up outside of Palm Desktop (On the comp, launch Palm Desktop, go in to each app, click Edit > Select All, then click File>Export and save where you'll remember).

Then uninstall Palm Desktop again, but this time once it's uninstalled go into C:\Program Files\ and delete the whole Handspring folder. This will remove any nasties left over from your previous installations.

Reinstall Palm Desktop, import your files and try again! Your mileage may vary, I am not responsible if you lose files. If you have questions, ASK before you proceed.

It was a resource issue for my computer. Disconnected my ethernet connection and it worked.

huh, that's funny At least you got it to work and know what's wrong.

Maybe try a serial cradle? Perhaps the serial port won't have the same conflicts - check at Staples to get one, make sure to look in the back of the store too - that's where they keep the Clearance bin with all the good & cheap Visor stuff. I got a Handcam for $20...
